Here is one of four very good examples of small urban covered bridges in Borneo, Malaysia.
There 4 little spans are at the port of Sibu, Sarawak, photo ATAWALK 2009

The structures are simple and utilitarian. Nothing fancy about them but it goes to show a long tradition of covered bridges
all over south-east Asia. It will be awesome to drive the back roads of Borneo one day and to discover
some of the wooden spans that still exist in many areas of Malaysia and Indonesia.

Ces structures sont toutes simples et utilitaires. Rien de bien compliqués, mais ça démontre quand même une tradition très anciennes
de construction de ponts couverts dans tout le sud-est Asiatique. Il sera intéressant de faire la découverte des routes de Bornéo
et de découvrir ce qui'il y reste de ponts couverts en bois en Malaisie et en Indonésie.

Die Strukturen sind einfach und zweckmäßig. Nichts Besonderes an ihnen, aber es geht auf eine lange Tradition in der überdachten Brücken zeigen
ganz Südostasien. Es wird toll, die Nebenstraßen von Borneo 1 Tag fahren und zu entdecken
einige der hölzernen Spannweiten, die noch in vielen Bereichen von Malaysia und Indonesien.
